The Science of Sex
Thursday 29th July 2010
TWI - Ramsey Moon Conference Centre, Abington Hall, Granta Park, Great Abington, Cambridge, CB21 6AL
Finger buffet at 18:00. Seminar starts 18:30.
Shamus Husheer is the Managing Director of Cambridge Temperature Concepts Ltd, a start-up company founded by a group of scientists from the University of Cambridge in 2006. CTC’s emerging technologies will have a number of applications, particularly in the medical arena. For now, the company is making national headlines with its first product, which is a clever and non-invasive fertility monitor. Already an award-winning company, it would be stealing the presenter’s thunder to say any more about the company or about Dr Husheer. Suffice it to say that Cambridge’s leading biotech entrepreneur, Dr Jonathan Milner, thought that CTC was a company worth supporting.
Irenee Daly is conducting PhD research at the University of Cambridge in the Centre For Family Research. Irenee previously completed an MPhil at the University in developmental psychology and she also holds an MSc from the University of Durham. Irenee will be setting the scene by looking at some issues around gender, reproductive technologies and age-related fertility decline.
So, come along and hear everything that you wanted to know about (the science of) sex but were afraid to ask!
