FEBRUARY 2003 BROADSHEET - Science Keeps its Secrets

No doubt we could fill a complete meeting with dire tales from all those who got stuck in and around Cambridge by that horrendous blizzard on the evening of Thursday 30th January. Seven made it to the venue, all very late, and the rest, 55 or so, struggled vainly to get there and then just as valiantly to get home. Our Chairman arrived at about 7.15 and got home at 1.00am. The Treasurer and I started at 4.30, managed to find a pub for some essential lubricants at 7.15, decided regretfully to make for home and finally got back at 11.00pm.

St John's Innovation Centre has kindly opened its doors again to allow us to reconvene there on our next meeting date, Thursday 27th February, at 6.00pm. The fate of the ARM visit will be sorted out later. Everyone who has paid for attending the January meeting will be accepted free on 27th February and we hope many more will be able to join them.

Please use the tear off form overleaf as usual, only sending a cheque if you have not already paid.

Members please note the AGM will now take place at 6.00pm on Thursday 27th March 2003 at 6.00pm at the TWI Conference Centre prior the seminar on Emerging Technologies. It is hoped that as many members as possible will attend the AGM to contribute ideas for improving on the success of Club meetings.

Some non-members wanting notices sent by e-mail have responded to my request for their addresses and should be getting this notice via e-mail. If it is coming to you by post and you want it by e-mail please e-mail me your e-mail address for future transmissions.
